What Now

The guy in the White House has been calling Portland a “war zone” repeatedly to justify deploying The National Guard to Oregon in a stated effort to quell what he describes as extreme left terrorism. Anyone living in the city — like me — can tell you that he’s full of shit, or “untethered to reality” as a recent 9th circuit ruling put it in a decision to prevent the president from activating the troops for 14 days. I hope it’s clear that I’m making light of his claims and not the violence federal agents are using against peaceful protesters.
