Jim Crow Disease
The speed at which the South has undermined Black representation since The Supreme Court killed the Voting Rights Act has been horrible to watch. My birth state of Tennessee made national headlines by remapping away the district representing Memphis, the only Black majority district in the state. Louisiana lost four.
But RFK Jr has been on my mind lately. He’s been out there in interviews and testifying before Congress that he’s eliminated “woke science” — that is, tracking disproportionate health impacts on minorities — while suppressing reports proving the efficacy of vaccines for Covid and shingles. Shingles! His eugenicist barbarianism walks in tandem with the racism of this administration in so many other areas.
