Laughing Crying
The laughing crying emoji is a go-to for right wing trolls and likeminded conservatives who use it to mock images or stories about the suffering of vulnerable and marginalized people online. I see it as a sign of stunted or possibly discarded empathy.
To be clear, I don’t condemn using the emoji itself. It’s harmless on its own. It’s how certain online right wing chuckleheads use it that I find disturbing and gross.
