What Now

What the federal government is doing to the Twin Cities and the rest of the country is dangerous, violent, and criminal. ICE and the Border Patrol abuse human rights, and outright murder people, with no accountability. The sad thing is that this is not unprecedented. We have allowed cops to get away with the same tactics for decades. But people are finally fighting back and the polls show a clear majority want ICE abolished now. So what do pols like Cory Booker propose? The same ineffective shit they tried following the Black Lives Matter protests of 2020. More money for more training and body cams. Absurd.

Hey, it’s the first comic strip of the new year! And it’s not really a strip, but a panel. I had intended a strip, but health issues have recently slowed me down a bit, throwing me off my production schedule — hence, no strip two weeks ago. My plan is to alternate between What Now and Fetch, posting here one week and there the next. If you’re interested in a comedy about a demon/fae cat searching the Otherworld for a cure to his mother’s magical cancer (okay, dark comedy), Fetch might be for you.

Fetch originally began as a fantastical autobio comic wherein I satirized my personal life and politics in general, with Fetch the demon/fae cat in question acting as a combination Greek chorus and occasional interloper dealing out magical karmic justice. Then I started the Otherworldly Goods story line in 2018, with a break from 2022-2023 to return to its original form before resuming the story in 2024. As you might have guessed, health issues and other parts of my personal life contributed to that two year break. What Now emerged in 2025 because current events have been too dire for my political artistic values to ignore. Alternating between the two strips is a strategy for me to fulfill two wolves inside me, the political commentator and the absurdist/satirical storyteller.
