Governor Newsom might get some credit for how he’s handled Trump’s deployment of National Guard troops to combat ICE protesters in Los Angeles this weekend. But make no mistake, he’s been currying elements of the right on issues like trans athletes in high school sports, attacking the homeless, and Trump himself with the lame Make Hollywood Great Again initiative. Ro Kanna, representative from California is not trying to work with Trump, but this week appealed to Elon Musk in a misguided attempt to woo the fascist billionaire to support Democrats. It’s this kind of opportunistic behavior that puts people off and sells out core constituents. Cut the shit.
